Still Life With Peonies

Framed in a Gallery Standard white box frame, this painting was lovingly created in the summer of 2021 during a series of peaceful afternoons spent in my sitting room. Peonies, my all-time favourite flowers, have long held a special place in my heart, symbolising love, happiness, romance, and beauty. It's no wonder these stunning blooms have captivated artists and admirers alike for centuries.

Over the years, I have dedicated countless hours to painting peonies in all their stages, from the tightly coiled buds to the delicate petals that gracefully fall away at the end of their blooming cycle. In this particular piece, the peonies are showcased in one of my cherished vintage vases, which adds an extra layer of nostalgia and charm.

To further imbue the painting with a sense of personal connection and history, I've included my mother-in-law's vintage 1960s clock in the composition. This treasured timepiece has made appearances in several of my works, serving as a subtle, yet poignant reminder of the importance of family and the passage of time.
